Posta Bistrot
A journey through time among Milano’s traditional flavors
Posta Bistrot is a restaurant offering a selection of dishes inspired by traditional Milanese cuisine, refreshed with an innovative culinary approach. The restaurant’s name comes from the original location: a former post office that was renovated while maintaining a constant relationship with its original architecture.
Info extra
At the beginning of our design process, Posta Bistrot’s identity was developed with the goal of opening additional locations in other Italian cities, preserving the original spirit and history that led to the establishment of the first venue in Milano. Unfortunately, the COVID crisis limited the brand’s expansion capabilities, leading to the venue’s closure at the beginning of the pandemic.
At the table
The brand’s tone of voice is understated and simple: it accompanies the culinary experience without overwhelming diners. We therefore chose green, a symbolic color present throughout the venue, and subtle references to the postal world, to create various graphic elements personalizing the restaurant’s decor, from takeaway utensil sets to staff uniforms.
At the bar
The former post office was renovated with tiled walls and wooden seating and served as our main inspiration. The nostalgic and romantic atmosphere accompanies diners throughout their meal and becomes part of the experience itself. To avoid overshadowing such an important identity, we designed minimal internal signage, with few window decals featuring the initial seal and small interventions for the most important information.
On the web
The restaurant’s website is a journey discovering the flavors and atmosphere of the restaurant. Users can explore different sections of the site to learn about the venue’s history, its typical dishes, and special offers. Similarly, it serves as a practical tool for booking a table or sending requests to the staff.
